Love is...

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.

Never Once

I was listening to Matt Redman’s song Never Once today and I began to tear up as I am currently on a mountaintop and looking back at what God has done. God has been with me as I take each step. My life is focused on following His plan within His perfect timing.

I went to Auburn this past week, it made me think specifically about my time at Auburn Church. God was always walking with me, as I was full heartily serving Him. I thought of the beautiful things God used me for in Auburn for His glory. Here are just a few of the things: a BIG faith, perseverance, praying continuously, Christ like love, the mission field is where you are, dependence on Him and no one else, life is an adventure, loving kids, serving volunteers, and so much more!

Never once was I alone! I am thankful for God’s grace and mercy as I look back on my precious moments at Auburn Church.

Here are the Lyrics from Never Once:

Standing on this mountaintop
Looking just how far we’ve come
Knowing that for every step
You were with us

Kneeling on this battle ground
Seeing just how much You’ve done
Knowing every victory
Was Your power in us

Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Yes, our hearts can say

Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

Kneeling on this battle ground
Seeing just how much You’ve done
Knowing every victory
Was Your power in us

Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Yes, our hearts can say

Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, You are faithful
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Never once did we ever walk alone
Carried by Your constant grace
Held within Your perfect peace
Never once, no, we never walk alone

Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

Every step we are breathing in Your grace
Evermore we’ll be breathing out Your praise
You are faithful, God, You are faithful
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

You are faithful, God, You are faithful
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

My Granola Bar Friend

A few years ago, I met an amazing person. We were volunteering at Thirsty, a conference for college leaders done by www.268generation.org. We arrived to serve at the same time. She then says to me, "Come with me to my car I forgot my granola bar." I was like ok and went. There began a friendship that has made my life so much better!

We became instant friends. Making sure everyone smiled even if it was at us. She is an amazing Godly woman. She has been by my side when Auburn Church opened, through many crazy stressed out nights, many fun fabulous tours seeing the south, Auburn Church closed, before the morning, tears, my first trip to Africa, PRAYERS, truthful in love, Wii games, Auburn Church closing, moving to Atlanta, and my grandmother going to Heaven.

I have learned so much from her. She has taught me to think and learn what God wants to teach me to make me more like Him. I love talking with her and learning from her. Our friendship was a divine appointment. I am thankful for her and how God put her in my life.

Some highlights to my adventure are the following:
Going to my church from last year!
Cooking Maize with them.
Being greeted with hugs from all the gogos.
Eating maize from the side of the road. Its a cross between popcorn and corn on the cob.
Litsemba was amazing to see the kids accept God's grace!
End of the month shopping with the Kenyans.
Watching a lion run.
Developing relationships with beautiful Swazis.

ITS BEEN AMAZING! Thanks for your prayers!

Life in Atlanta

I will gladly go any where, do anything, at any cost for my King. What a crazy ride God has me on. I LOVE IT! I have beenlooking for a job in missions since last May because I know God is calling me to serve and live overseas one day. I have a heart for the nations.

In November, I was asked to come on staffwith Heart for Africa, who Iwent to Swaziland with in July (thank you Kelly). The job is based in Alpharetta, Georgia. I moved on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and started onMonday. Heart for Africa is a beautiful adventure. I love doing so many things to overall help the amazing people of Swaziland. Everyday I am making a difference in an orphan or vulnerable children’s life. Iam so thankful God provided this amazing passion in my heart!

I live really close to my work, thankfully do nothave to deal with crazy Atlanta traffic. It is next to the Greenway, a HUGE path in the woods to walk, run, and ride bikes. Timber loves his new home next to the greenway! Some people are asking for house pics:

More pictures to come of my bedroom...

North Point Community Church is where I currently attend church on Sundays and serve in Waumba Land. Waumba Land is birth thru 4 years of age kids. I am the coach which means I get to love on the amazing volunteers throughout the week. Here is a picture of us dressing up for Halloween at church. We were either cowboys or Super heros!

Love playing in Atlanta! Some fun things include shows like Peter Pan, Aquarium visits ( I am still a science nerd), drinks at the Sundial, concerts, and AMAZING FRIENDS!
